preservation design awards. it's currently at caltrans's headquarters in oakland, california. as you know the big topner 2012 was the find of the colombian mammoth that is current on "[stkpao-eu/] [stkpa*-eu/]. the transit center district plan was approved or adopted bit planning commission and approved by the brz. the transbay tower was approved and grant all the project entitlements. and we entered into a purchase agreement for sale of the property for $19 million. we expect closing to occur in march of this year, no later than april 1. parcel b also known as block 11a construction began on the ray cousin apartments which is 120 units supportive housing project by bridge and community [pao-erpb/]ships. it's a partnership with the mayor's office of housing and the redevelopment successor agency and we're very proud of that project because it's our first affordable physically supportive housing project that is under construction. blocks 6 and 7 the redevelopment successor agency developed 409 market-rate and 150 affordable housing units and they are currently finalizing negotiations on t
headquarters and now is the a the caltrans district 4 headquarters in oakland. and then of course, eventually it will become part of the transit center when that opens. one of our major objectives as always to generate as much positive media coverage as we can. we work very closely with our pr consultants at singer associates in that regard. you see the accomplishments and milestones that generated coverage in 2012. we were able to get good storis in the chronicle, the examiner, the san francisco business times, the l.a.x. times, the sacramento bee, broadcast affiliates for nbc, cbs, ab, fox. and as i mentioned the mammoth tooth in particular did generate a lot of interest not just locally, but we got national coverage in the associated press, the boston globe, huffington press and the new york daily news n.2013 we'll of course be continuing our outreach activities and ongoing media outreach. some of the milestones that are upcoming that we'll have an opportunity to highlight include the construction of the third traffic bridge. the completion of the buttress work will be a significant milest

. >> andre here for supervisor wiener who was in oakland. before you today is spend resolution in the amount of $2.38 million. accepting funds from the m.t.c. to fund jobs, housing, transportation and planning identified priority developments here in san francisco. california senate bill 375 adopted in 2008 requires each of california' region to prepare a sustainable community strategy that demonstrates how the region will meet greenhouse gas reduction targets through integrated land use, housing and rotation planning. last fall, the m.t.c. approved the direction of $20 million in federal funding for planning within priority development area throughout the bay area, the nine county was of the bay area. the san francisco planning department was identified as the recipient of san francisco share of those funds which amounts to $2.3 million through fiscal year 2015 and 2016. the plan department will work with other city agencies including the t.a., the m.t.a. and the mayor's office of housing to develop a work plan guiding the programming of these funds. planning is here if there are any quest
is down the hill from us at burton hill and east 81st avenue in oakland where we built a good relationship and just one quick story, a story out of east 81st avenue branch in oakland to give you a sense why radio can help with building brings so we a little girl that came with her family and they were talking about food and she talked about how she loved to cook. she talked about her first experience cooking an egg. they asked what is your dream? what would you like to do? "well, i would like to be a chef and a pharmacists" so on the nightly program we have a community story telling project and 10 year old in oakland. she tells the story and her voice. we get a phone call from a dean at ussf and i am a pharmacist and a enthusiastic chef and i would like to meet the girl in the story. she went there and was shown around and they made a connection that is independent of kalw. i hope that's what we can be part of. they're small things but i think they're really powerful. i also have that sense for me i am excited about the developments at kalw it's a steady up swing of activity at the s

's kind of a miracle, what my daughter experienced by her hard work. and she was forced to move to oakland a few months ago, because she's been priced out. well, i wanted to give you a little historical information about what it's like to be an aids activist in 2013. what i noticed in '89, and i don't think any of you folks, sitting there, were here in '89 -- oh, you were. okay. i don't know how old you were, but my land lady was a small time realtor named greta from skyline. she owned quite a few properties. she decided what a great idea, i'm going to take advantage of the fact that no one is willing to rent to people with aids. i will. she kicked out people left and right, including me. and tripled the rents. they were happy to have her. no one else was willing. she took advantage. that was in '89. and so i'm an unhappy native. i'm embarrassed of the city. i love this place for almost my whole life. i'm very, very ashamed of san francisco, and the politics. thank you. >> chair wiener: thank you. next speaker please. >> thank you. i'm max -- and i've lived in san francisco for 24 years, l
a real estate attorney for the last 15 years here san francisco and for a few years in oakland. for the last 12 years i have worked primarily as a real estate broker. i have quite a bit of experience with the appraisal process. i am a homeowner here in san francisco. that is in true; i have been a renter for the last two months; for the previous 15 years, an owner of single-family homes and a few condos and also the landlord. i understand all of those perspectives. i also was the president and secretary depending on the year of homeowners associations; i have been and adjunct professor; work with the san francisco ethics boards of the san francisco association of realtors. i have sat on the san francisco association of realtors arbitration board. i have chaired the forms committee for the san francisco association of realtors, the education committee and on the california association of realtors form and education committees. i work with vanguard properties, risk assessment. i reviewed the files. i have a special hand as assistant legal counsel, i have a special interest in
and oakland and other places. i have known gary for a long time. i am here really to address two issues that were raised by the appellant that i have noticed in my review of the documents. the notice provision, because that seems to be one. and the distinguish between 300' walking distance versus 300' radius and i believe that the appellant really confuses those two ris issues. with regard to notice, expresso subito used radio services, i believe is the same service used by department of public works and a lot of city services in determining how notice was provided. it is granted that apparently there were a couple of stores in a couple of locations that were not noticed in the original notice and i think part of the confusion was the front street versus california street address. and i believe it was royal exchange and potentially coffee close, et cetera. those two may not have gotten the original notice. however, the issue about notice and due process and as i face all the time in federal court, is whether the individuals that did not get original notice were harmed. whether they had
cities that have recently passed ordinance, oakland, belmont and novato have recently passed legislation. this ordinance would increase public awareness and really raise awareness that we need to create more smoke-free housing in our buildings and throughout our neighborhoods. the version of this ordinance that you see before you is an amendment of the whole where the requirement that land lords report both smoke free and smoking optional units has been amended to only require reporting of smoking optional units. again i want to thank the tenant organizations and apartment association for their leadership but especially aliana caruco from the department of public health and desiree for drafting the ordinance. with that, i'd like to ask aliana caruco to make a public presentation. >> good afternoon, supervisors, my name is aliana caruca, i'm with the department of public health and i'm
